2 dead after Southfield police chase ends in crash in Farmington Hills

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Farmington Hills Police Department and Southfield Police Department are investigating a crash that stemmed from a police pursuit Saturday afternoon.

The chase began in Southfield on westbound Eight Mile Road. Southfield police officers attempted to pull over a black Chevrolet Impala, but the driver of that vehicle did not stop. Southfield police terminated the pursuit at Beech Road.

The driver continued driving at high speeds when it crashed into a Ford Taurus at the Eight Mile/Inkster Road intersection in Farmington Hills. That crashed occurred at 3:48 p.m. on Saturday, according to Farmington Hills police.

Witnesses tell 7 Action News high speed impact started a fire, which first responders had to put out.

The drivers of both vehicles died in the crash. They were the only two people in either vehicle.

Police have identified the at-fault driver of the Impala as 20-year-old Edward fuller, Jr. of Wixom. The driver of the Taurus has been identified as 33-year-old QiQi Li of Detroit.
