STERLING HEIGHTS (WXYZ) — An altercation outside the Sterling Heights assembly plant resulted in one employee being taken to the hospital.

Police say the assault happened around 10 p.m. Monday evening. Two workers at the FCA assembly plant stabbed each other during the altercation in the parking lot and one employee was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police say he has been listed in stable condition.

The other worker involved fled the scene prior to officers arriving, according to the Sterling Heights Police Department. A couple of hours later, officers were able to locate the alleged perpetrator and take him into custody.

Police say the incident reportedly stemmed from a line-cutting incident that took place at the FCA plant turnstile about a week ago.
