(WXYZ) — During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we pay tribute to the lives lost and to those still in the fight and to the survivors. Being strong and being brave is not always easy and healing is a journey.
7 Action News' Andrea Isom tells us the story of two powerful women with one goal: to help make women feel whole again, from the inside out.
For Karen MacDonald And Lisa Lurie this a movement. The two like to say there is a fashion revolution going on. But it’s not on the catwalk, it’s behind the scenes with cancer survivors who really recognize that emotional support and recovery for their physical needs, like appearance-related challenges, and rebuilding your self-esteem are so important.
And this dynamic is paving the way to change that narrative for women.
MacDonald founded a company called WrappedInLove.com. It was the loss of her Mother.
Karen created the company to give women stylish and comfortable clothes and accessories while going through chemo. These gems allow people to keep their individual identity and wear them with confidence and pride.
Lisa Lurie also started a business called CancerBeGlammed.com. Its focus is to empower women to recover with dignity, positive self-esteem and your own personal style.
