(WXYZ) — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said two teens have died after a one-car rollover crash Tuesday night in LaSalle Township.
According to deputies, a 17-year-old Monroe teen girl was driving on LaPlaisance Rd. and lost control after crossing railroad tracks.
The car then went in a ditch and hit a utility pole, causing it to overturn and come to rest upside down.
Deputies say 19-year-old man from Luna Pier was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the hospital. A 17-year-old girl from Erie was also pronounced dead at the scene.
According to deputies, the driver was taken into custody. Deputies say excessive speed and intoxicants appear to be a factor in the crash.
