Twenty-five bricks of suspected cocaine totaling 30.6 kilograms was seized at the Ambassador Bridge on September 22.

The bust took place on the Windsor side where two returning residents were sent for an inspection.

The driver and passenger were arrested after the bricks were found in the vehicle.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police charged Preet Kiran Gill and Suresh Nath Sharma with the importation and possession of cocaine with the intent of trafficking the drug.

“Border services officers are committed to keeping our communities safe. This seizure demonstrates the hard work and perseverance of our law enforcement officers working together to protect our border.” Tamara Allard, District Director, Ambassador Bridge Operations, Southern Ontario Region, CBSA.

An investigation into the case is still underway.
