DETROIT (WXYZ) — Troopers with the Michigan State Police Metro South division are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash where the victim's gun was stolen from the crash scene.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Saturday on the northbound Lodge ramp.

Two motorcyclists were exiting northbound Lodge to the Davison when one of the riders entered the curve too fast, causing him to collide with the concrete embankment wall and a caution arrow sign.

The 25-year-old man from Dearborn died.

The victim's friend, who was the second motorcyclist, removed the victim's gun and placed it on the embankment wall before rendering first aid. A group nearby was having a gathering in a vacant lot and those people moved over to the crash scene. At some point, the gun was stolen from the crash scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
