27 charges issued in Troy police, MSP shoplifting crackdown

(WXYZ) — The Troy Police Department and Michigan State Police teamed up to stop shoplifters.

Police held a two-day "blitz" on Jan. 28 and 29 that resulted in 27 different charges related to retail crime.

Loss prevention officers from 13 different stores were also part of the effort.

One arrest includes a 30-year-old man and 30-year-old woman who were accuse of stealing $736 worth of goods from Victoria's Secret, Dick's Sporting Goods, JC Penney and Bath and Body Works at Oakland Mall. The suspects were reportedly accompanied by the woman's 7-year-old child.

The Canton Police Department also worked as part of the cooperative effort.
