A 28-year-old motorcyclist died after a traffic crash in London Township on Wednesday.

Police say at about 5:30 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Monroe post were dispatched to the intersection of Ostrander and Townsend roads.

A 2001 Aprilla RSV motorcycle was driving westbound on Ostrander Road, police say. The motorcyclist, identified as Jacob Ramsey, passed a school bus and collided with a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt that was turning onto a private driveway.

Ramsey suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the Cobalt, a 77-year-old woman from Maybee, was not injured.

Police say at this time, neither alcohol nor drug use appears to be a factor in the crash.

The crash is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tpr. Evan Ashley at 734-242-3500.
