A man was shot and killed on Detroit’s northwest side Wednesday morning — it happened just before 9 a.m.
Police tell 7 Action News that the victim was 30 years old.
“He wasn’t the type of guy that got into altercations and things,” said Charles Stinson, an older neighbor who was shocked to hear about the shooting.
Those who live at the apartment complex where the shooting took place declined to identify the man, but said it was a shock to learn he was the person shot and killed.
“I think it’s tragic,” said Stinson.
The shooting happened near Greenfield Road and Vassar Road. It’s unclear whether the shooting happened inside an apartment or outside the complex as police were spotted looking for evidence in two separate locations early Wednesday morning.
Crime scene investigators and police are still on-scene at the time of this posting investigating. At last check, police noted that they were still speaking with witnesses.
“We hate when these things happen because basically everyone that’s here knows each other,” said Stinson. “We like to think that we’re friends and that we can get along.”
Details about a possible suspect, or whether police have made any arrests, are not available at this time.
