(WXYZ) — Four children have been hospitalized following a serious injury crash on I-94 Monday.
On Nov. 16 around 8:20 p.m., troopers responded to a traffic crash on westbound I-94 at Cadieux. A preliminary investigation revealed that the drivers of two vehicles attempted to exit at Cadieux at the same time, police say.
Both vehicles sideswiped each other and then struck the right concrete shoulder wall. One of the vehicles ended up blocking the left lane of westbound I-94 and the other blocking the right lane.
In one of the vehicles, there was a 6-year-old who suffered serious injuries, a 4-year-old in temporary serious condition, a 9-year-old now in stable condition, and a 14-year-old also in stable condition.
According to police, they were taken to St. John Hospital.

The freeway was closed for an investigation, which remains ongoing.
