WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — Warren police say five people are in custody related to a carjacking and shooting near I-696 on Monday.
We're told the suspects are all in their 20s, three men and two women, and they also recovered three handguns at the motel in Sterling Heights, where they were arrested.
It happened in front of the Twin Pines Trailer Park on the I-696 Service Dr. It started when an orange Jeep Renegade was carjacked.
Police say two men hopped out of a car in the middle of the service drive and started shooting at each other. No one was injured, but they had to shut down the service drive to investigate.
Shell casings and tire tracks were all that was left behind.
