MONROE COUNTY (WXYZ) — A 4-year-old boy died Saturday after his father's vehicle was hit while turning into a residential driveway in Raisinville Township.

Around 6:30 p.m., the boy and his father were traveling westbound on Bluebush Road in a 2011 Nissan Altima when the father made a left turn into a driveway, witnesses say. While crossing the eastbound lane, the Altima was hit on the passenger side by a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven by a 37-year-old woman from Maybee, Michigan.

The 4-year-old was in the back-seat, on the passenger side of the Altima. He was in a booster seat while wearing a seat belt, police say. The child was found unresponsive by first responders on the scene.

The boy was taken to Promedica Toledo Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 37-year-old driver of the Jeep and the child's father were also taken to the Toledo hospital and treated for their injuries.

No additional information was immediately provided regarding the crash.
