5-year-old found safe after abduction during home invasion in metro Detroit

Lincoln Park police say they found the 5-year-old girl who was abducted from Romulus earlier this morning. 

The father is now in custody, according to police. 

7:16 a.m.

Police sources tell 7 Action News that the child was taken from the 7200 block of Washington near Wayne and Ecorse. 

We're told 28-year-old Buddy Roy Gill is accused of breaking into his ex's house and took 5-year-old Mireyna Amor Russell-Gill.

Buddy is believed to be driving a silver Jeep with license plate DPY2665. 

6:48 a.m.

Romulus police say they are searching for a 5-year-old who was abducted during a home invasion early Thursday morning.

Police say the girl was taken by her non-custodial father around 4:30 a.m.

No further details have been released at this time.

An Amber Alert has not been issued at this time.
