60-year-old woman dies after hit by vehicle while crossing the street in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating a fatal accident in the area of Greenfield and Joy Road.

On Aug. 7, 2020 around 7:35 p.m. , an unknown driver of a gray utility truck, was turning north on Greenfield from Joy Road when they allegedly struck a 60-year-old woman as she was walking across the street.

Police say after the incident, the driver of the vehicle continued driving and failed to stop.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The vehicle is described as a 4-door gray utility truck possibly a Chevy Silverado with two tool boxes in the bed.

Suspect is unknown at this time, police say.
