ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) — A man is in police custody after his involvement in a fatal hit-and-run in Roseville on Saturday.
Roseville Police officers were dispatched to north bound Gratiot near Victor Street on the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, the 67-year-old victim was found by officers in the roadway.
The 67-year-old Roseville resident was pronounced deceased at the scene, police say.
According to police, the 22-year-old suspect sped off from the scene.
The suspect was later stopped by St. Clair Shores Police. Roseville officers conducted an investigation and placed the man under arrest.
The 22-year-old Detroit resident is in custody and will be charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, police say. The incident is still under investigation, and it is undetermined if drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor at this time.
The arrested individual will be arraigned Monday, June 15 in 39th District Court, according to police.
