OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that hospitalized seven teens in Otsego County Sunday morning. Speed is believed to have been a factor, according to a preliminary investigation.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. in Bagley Township. The teens, all between the ages of 17 and 19, were traveling in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, which was being driven by a 17-year-old girl from Afton.

The teen was heading southbound on Old M-27 near North Otsego Lake Drive when the vehicle left the roadway, hit an embankment and became airborne, investigators said. The Chevy then hit another embankment and rolled over.

Two of the teens inside the vehicle were severely injured and taken to St. Mary's Ascension Hospital in Saginaw. All other occupants in the vehicle were treated locally for minor injuries.
