Exhibitors, health and wellness experts and invited speakers will provide informative seminars, free health and dental screenings as well as healthy cooking demonstrations as part of the 7th Annual McKinney Foundation's "Celebrating a Healthier Detroit" Expo on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Scores of health and wellness experts will focus on prevention techniques for an array of diet and lifestyle conditions including: childhood obesity, hyper-tension, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, asthma and depression.
The "Celebrating a Healthier Detroit" Expo includes free health screenings for persons of all ages, free youth dental screenings, healthy lunches, group fitness sessions as well as a one mile family Fun Run and much more. For those interested in the Fun Run, youth runners will be charged a nominal fee of $10 and adult runners will be charged $15. A paid registration fee is required for the Fun Run, with registration opening at 8:30 a.m. on August 9, 2017 and the one mile run slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. All Fun Run registrants receive a T-shirt and free admission to the Outdoor Adventure Center, 1801 Atwater Street in Detroit, MI.
