DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating a non-fatal shooting on the city's northeast side.
A 93-year-old woman was sitting on her couch when bullets flew through her living room Wednesday night, nearly missing her.
“She was asleep at the time so she didn’t even realize what was going on," said the woman's grandson, Marc D'Andre.
The woman was sitting in her usual spot on the couch and fell asleep while watching TV. According to police, the shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m on East Brentwood near 7 Mile and Van Dyke.

“It was a normal night and all of a sudden the shots rang out and we just didn’t know what was going on," said D'Andre.
He was in the basement with his 2-year-old son Wednesday night when he heard the shots — many of ripping through the front window.
“We heard about 10-15 shots," he told 7 Action News. "I heard glass break in my house and I heard my aunt scream because she got grazed under her arm.”
D'Andre's aunt didn't suffer serious injuries. He believes the intended target was someone else on the street.
Detroit police are still investigating and have not made any arrests yet.
They told 7 Action News a 23-year-old male was struck, and treated at the hospital.
“Too much senseless gun violence going on in the city of Detroit. People really need to start thinking before they pull out these guns," D'Andre told 7 Action News
