SOUTHGATE, Mich. (WXYZ) — The body of a woman who was reported missing on New Year's Eve was found in a field near an apartment in Southgate on Tuesday morning.
Police are at the scene at Lacolonade Apartments in the area of Northline Rd. and Fordline St., just west of Dix-Toledo.
The 31-year-old woman was found shot to death, and they have a person of interest in custody who they say knows the victim. They are still in the process of notifying family members so they have not given out the woman's name.
