Advice, free resources for students learning from home

WXYZ — Monday, March 16 will mark the first full week of students learning from home - and it could come with challenges.

We sat down with a first grade teacher at Meadowbrook Elementary in Novi. Carrie Estabrook has a third grader and a fifth grader at home.

To help her own kids learn, Mrs. Estabrook has created a unique workspace for each of them.

The first grade teacher says getting young students into a routine of learning in the same spot is part of the key to success. She also stresses the importance of reading to your children.

Mrs. Estabrook says not to forget about including physical health in your child's daily routine. That could be something as simple as a daily walk, run, or bike ride.
