(WXYZ) — The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are set to perform a flyover of the Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac Island on June 27 at 3:30 p.m.
The Thunderbirds will also perform two, free air shows at the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City this weekend, with a full practice show on Friday.
The festival performance, which includes a ground show and air demonstration, is set to last about 75 minutes and include approximately 40 maneuvers. Eight pilots, four civilians, four support officers and more than 100 personnel make up the Thunderbirds air force unit.
A local unit -- the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station in Traverse City -- will be included in the performance, along with the Redline aerobatic flight team and the F18 Super Hornet demonstration.
