The brave men and women were stationed in a southwestern part of Asian, helping in Operation Inherent Resolve which involved fighting ISIS.

At one point over the summer, there were 500 airmen from the 127th Wing deployed there, which is the largest deployment from the wing since the Korean war.

“Every single one of you came home which means the enemy got zero points,” the 127th Wing Commander said.

Most of the airmen were deployed this spring and returned in November.

They were honored in a ceremony Sunday with guest speakers including Gov. Rick Snyder, Sen. Gary Peters, and Congresswoman Candice Miller.
