(WXYZ) — A 64-year-old Detroit man is facing charges after allegedly ramming into two Warren police cars.

Prosecutors say the man drove through a police line and struck two patrol cars.

On Feb. 8, two officers were investigating an accident at 10 Mile and Mound when the man allegedly struck their stationary patrol cars, prosecutors say. One officer was seated inside his vehicle, while the other was outside of his vehicle at the time of the collision.

Prosecutors say both officers suffered minor injuries.

The officers reportedly said they could smell alcohol on the man, who allegedly admitted to having "three drinks" and that he drank vodka. He was reportedly well over the legal limit for blood alcohol content.

Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith said he will be seeking restitution from the man to pay for damage done to police vehicles and any medical expenses.

The man has been charged with driving without auto insurance and operating with a high blood alcohol content.
