VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Belleville resident is facing multiple charges for allegedly stealing packages from homes in Van Buren Township.
Chase Basham, 36, is charged with larceny between $200 and $1,000, larceny under $200 and eight counts of package theft.
The alleged thefts happened Dec. 18 between 1 and 2 p.m. Authorities say Basham allegedly stole packages from the porches of several private residences.
He was arraigned Sunday on 16 misdemeanor offenses including holding, concealing, destroying mail addressed to another person and larceny.
A pre-trial is scheduled for Jan. 2. Basham's bond was set at $10,000 with 10 percent.
