The Allen Road Bridge over Brownstown Creek will be closed to traffic starting Wednesday, August 22 at noon.
Officials say barricades will be placed on the bridge. Drivers are advised to plan additional travel time and be aware of posted detours.
Wayne County Roads division provided this detour information:
- Southbound Allen Road: At the I-75 interchange traffic will be directed southbound on I-75 to Gibraltar Road. At Gibraltar Road traffic will be directed eastbound on Gibraltar ending the detour at the Allen Road –Gibraltar intersection.
- Northbound Allen Road: Eastbound and Westbound Gibraltar traffic will be directed to northbound I-75 Freeway. Continue north on I-75 to West Road. At West Road the detour traffic will be directed eastbound on West Road back to Allen Road ending the detour at the Allen Road-West Road intersection.
Allen Road will also be closed to traffic between Gibraltar and Vreeland. Only local access will be maintained, officials say.
Officials will announce the bridge's reopening at a later date.
