Amazon unveiled its corporate office in Detroit today.
The company has been present in Detroit for a few years now, but they are expanding, calling this office one of their main hubs.
The downtown Detroit office located at 150 West Jefferson will serve as a growing technology hub in the city.
Multiple Amazon business teams will work in the new building with roles including software development, engineers and advertising sales.
As they announce their expanding home in the city, Amazon also plans to donate $10,000 and 30 Amazon Fire tables to the Carver STEM Academy program in the Detroit Public Schools.
“We have a long-term plan to grow our presence in the great state of Michigan, and bring more full-time, high-tech jobs to the city of Detroit,” said Peter Faricy, vice president for Amazon Marketplace, in a press release. “We are focused on hiring in the state and look forward to being a part of the community, professionally and personally. Michigan is a rapidly growing technology corridor and we’re eager to bring the incredible local Detroit talent to Amazon.”
