There are hundreds of children in the Michigan Foster System searching for loving parents.
We're excited to do something different this week, featuring one of the incredible foster youth looking for loving parents.
Draven is a fun loving 13-year-old who has spent years searching for parents.
“I see myself as a loving and caring guy,” Draven said.
His smile lights up the room, though Draven has faced years of loneliness and crushed dreams of belonging, he remains hopeful one day he’ll finally have a family to call his own.
“I’m looking for caring family, a happy family and a loving family,” Draven said.
Draven loves to be active whether it’s sports or working on cars, we got to spend the day with him at LEGOLAND in Great Lakes Crossing where he loved the rides and building his superhero Lego set.
“My favorite DC superhero is Batman and my Marvel superhero is Captain America,” he said.
But the real superhero he dreams of is something most of us take for granted, a dad.
“We can probably play video games or go outside to play catch,” he said.
Draven says he would love brothers and sisters young and old.
“I love people,” he said. “I like when people are happy.”
For this happy go lucky kid it’s been years of not having anyone to confide in, a shoulder to cry on when he needs a loving parent most.
“Most of the time I get upset over things that I sometimes want right now,” he said. And what he wants now more than anything is a family.
Draven says he’s hopeful that one day his day will come and a family will choose him.
“I know some caring parents would like someone like me,” he said.
