(WXYZ) — The annual Rochester Area Hometown Christmas Parade has been canceled this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The long-standing tradition is hosted every December through Rochester and hosted by the Rochester Regional Chamber Foundation.
Tens of thousands of people gather in the Rochester area for the parade.
It is the largest Christmas parade in Michigan with more than 100 parade entries.
Instead, there will be a Parade Tribute that airs in July 2021 which is the 70th year for the parade.
The chamber said they anticipate the safe return of the Rochester Area Hometown Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021.
