An investigation is underway after a fire broke out around 7 a.m. Wednesday outside of Sacred Heart Church and School in Grosse Ile.
Though the cause of the fire is unknown, arson is suspected. The church used to collect used clothing for the homeless.
“It’s very heartbreaking because why would someone want to ruin these clothing when we are trying to help put people in need so it’s very disappointing,” said Bill Brazier, the church’s executive director.
In May, there were two other bin fires outside of the church’s thrift store in Lincoln Park.
It is not clear if the cases are connected.
