DETROIT (WXYZ) — At least eight people have been shot in Detroit within the past 24 hours, according to police reports.
The string of non-fatal shootings have left most victims in serious condition at local hospitals.
Two victims are in critical condition, and several "unknown" suspects are still at large in the city.
Here are the details on each shooting, per Detroit Police:
1. Non-fatal shooting on 13500 block of Kentucky – May 31 around 2:00 p.m.
A 34-year-old black male victim was on his porch when an unknown suspect walked up and began shooting at him. At the scene, officers recovered two handguns from the victim and another firearm outside the home.
Witnesses say they saw a black man with a dark complexion about 6-feet tall, leaving the area after the gunshots were fired.
Medics took the victim was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
2. "Temp serious" shooting at Fort and Omaha – May 31 around 4:45 p.m.
A 27-year-old white male witness told police he was in the front passenger seat of a black 2003 Chevy Avalance, driven by the 28-year-old white male victim.
An unknown newer model grey Durango or Journey driven by a white bald man pulled up alongside the witness and victim, police say. An Hispanic male in his 20's was seated in the rear passenger side of the grey vehicle started firing shots at them.
The victims then drove to another location for help and was taken to the hospital by medics. The 28-year-old driver, shot in the body, was listed in temp serious condition, according to police.
3. Non-fatal shooting on 2900 block of Doris – May 31 around 7:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed the an 18-year-old victim and a group of people were standing in front of a home on the 2900 block of Doris for a prom send off, when the homeowner came outside and began complaining about the crowd standing in front of his home.
The homeowner then pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting the 18-year-old, police say. The suspect then got into a blue or gray Hyundai vehicle and sped off from the scene.
Police say the victim was privately rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
4. Non-fatal shooting on 5000 block of Outer Drive – May 31 around 8:30 p.m.
A 25-year-old black male victim reported to police he was sitting inside of his vehicle when he heard gunshots. He got out of his vehicle and ran to his sister's vehicle and got inside. Police say the victim's sister transported him to a nearby hospital. He was treated and listed in stable condition. It is not clear where the man sustained a gunshot wound.
The suspect is unknown.
5. Non-fatal shooting on 300 block of Haverhill – May 31 around 9:55 p.m.
The 29-year-old black male victim was standing in the 300 block of Haverhill, when someone started shooting and struck the victim. He was privately conveyed to a local hospital and listed in temp serious condition, police say.
The shooter is unknown.
6. Non-fatal shooting on East 7 Mile and Joann – June 1 around 1:44 a.m.
Police say a 23-year-old black man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was privately taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
DPD says details on this shooting are not known at this time.
The shooter is unknown.
7. Non fatal shooting on Tireman/Southfield – June 1 around 1:45 a.m.
This 32-year-old black male victim was allegedly driving eastbound on Tireman, heard gunshots and felt pain. Police say he drove himself to a hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
The suspect is again unknown.
8. Critical shooting on the Spring Garden / Hayes – June 1 around 4:50 a.m.
A 37-year-old black man sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh and was taken to a hospital privately. He is the second victim listed in critical condition overnight in Detroit.
Police arrived at the hospital to get details from the victim, but the 37-year-old was unable to speak.
Again, the suspect responsible for this shooting is currently unknown.
Detroit police are still investigating these cases.
