The Wayne County Medical has ruled the death of a 3-year-old boy a homicide after completing an autopsy.
The child, Tyme Smith, died from multiple blunt force trauma.
The father and his girlfriend were taken into custody on Thursday after the 3-year-old boy died in the hospital.
Inkster police say the child’s 41-year-old father and his 21-year-old girlfriend were arrested at the hospital.
The boy reportedly had injuries to his head and feet.
The father originally told police the three-year-old died after falling down the stairs.
