Detroit police say a barricaded gunman situation on the city's northeast side has ended peacefully.
Police say it all started when a 35-year-old man went to his ex-girlfriend's house in the 8000 block of E. Lantz to ask her not to appear in court on a domestic violence charge against him.
We're told that's when the situation escalated and the woman left the scene. Police say the woman is a correctional officer and the man found her loaded weapon in the house and used it to barricade himself inside.
Police say he pointed the weapon at police. There were reports of shots fired, although none were reportedly aimed at officers.
Police negotiators are on the scene were able to get him to come out peacefully.
The man is now in custody.
