(WXYZ) — Beaumont hospitals will shine blue searchlights starting this week to show support for health care workers and first responders caring for patients during the coronavirus pandemic.

The lights will shine from April 9 - 15 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at all eight Beaumont hospitals:

  • Beaumont, Dearborn
  • Beaumont, Farmington Hills
  • Beaumont, Grosse Pointe
  • Beaumont, Royal Oak
  • Beaumont, Taylor
  • Beaumont, Trenton
  • Beaumont, Troy
  • Beaumont, Wayne

Beaumont says the searchlights are part of “Home Beams for Health Care Teams” initiative.

Every evening at 8 p.m., families are encouraged to step outside their house to shine a flashlight toward their nearest hospital to show their support for health care heroes across Southeast Michigan.

Families are also encouraged to put blue light bulbs in their porch light or tie a blue ribbon around a tree as a sign of support to health care heroes and first responders.
