DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) — Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders had a one-on-one meeting with pop star and rapper Cardi B in Detroit ahead of Tuesday's debate.
The two met at the TEN Nail bar in downtown Detroit on Monday.
Sanders wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday that the two had a "great conversation about the future of America."
Cardi B, a long-time supporter of Sanders, has spoken openly about her agreement with his policy plans.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper also posted to her Instagram account about their meeting writing, "Thank you Senator Bernie Sanders for sitting with me and sharing your plans on how you will change this country. A couple of weeks ago I asked my followers if you had the opportunity to have a question answered by a democratic candidate what would it be ? I got a lot of submission(s) and selected the most popular questions to get answered."
The post goes on to read, "Stay tuned to see how he will fight for economic, racial, and social justice for all. Together, let’s build a movement of young people to transform this country.LETS LEARN OUR CANDIDATES!"
