Better Business Bureau warns about Valentine's Day scams

SOUTHFIELD, MIch. (WXYZ) — For lots of folks, this weekend will be full of love, especially if you couldn’t celebrate with your special someone yesterday.

While this may be a time to woo your sweetheart, the Better Business Bureau has a warning for you.

There are a lot of scammers out there, looking for love and your loot. One deceitful dude may be from metro Detroit, taking advantage of people here and around the world.

We all know romance scams happen all the time, but they are on the rise during the Valentine’s Day holiday. However, most don’t get exposed or reported until around the Summer.

Why? Well, by then the scammers already has what he or she wants - your money!

Many victims are ashamed or embarrassed to be report this type of fraud, but they shouldn't be. The bad guys and gals are to blame.

So, people report this cruel behavior to the BBB.
