Beyonce confirmed via social media that she will play the role of Nala in the upcoming 2019 remake of Disney's "The Lion King."
The cast also includes Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Simba's mother Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki, Florence Kasuma as Shenzi, Eric Andre as Azizi, and Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa.
Detroit native Keegan Michael Key will also star as a hyena named Kamari.
The animated film, directed by Jon Favreau, will release on July 19, 2019.
