BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a man dead early Saturday morning.
The crash happened at the intersection of Woodward and Forest around 1:50 a.m. Police say a 40-year-old man from Southfield was crossing Woodward, near Forest, when he was hit by a vehicle driving northbound. The vehicle stopped momentarily before fleeing the area on eastbound Maple from Woodward.
The victim, who remains unidentified, died at the scene.
Police believe the suspect was driving a dark or maroon Chevrolet Traverse, made between 2013 and 2017. The vehicle is expected to have moderate front-end damage, according to authorities.
