(WXYZ) — February is Black History Month and events are being held across metro Detroit during the entire month.
Below is a list of programs taking place in celebration of the contributions by African Americans to society.
The Detroit Institute of Arts is holding events throughout the month, which include spoken word poetry, pop-up art tours, artist demonstrations and other interactive activities. View the full list of events here.

A dinner party hosted by well-known Detroit Chef Max Hardy and Chef Taz is being held in Hazel Park on Feb. 25. The event is from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Frame, 23839 John R. Road, #2. There will be a muti-course and multi-sensory diner in celebration of Black History Month. There will also be live art and visual performances.
