(WXYZ) — 313 Presents announced its 2019 summer concert season featuring performances at DTE Energy Music Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, Little Caesars Arena and the Fox Theatre.
The summer concert season begins this Saturday, May 11 with breakthrough British band The 1975 at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. The following weekend, Slayer brings “Leg Five: North America” of its Final World Tour to open DTE Energy Music Theatre on May 19. Legendary pop/R&B group New Edition’s Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins are joining forces once again as RBRM bring the “4 The Love Of It Tour” to open the season at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill on May 30.
DTE ENERGY MUSIC THEATRE – MULTIPLE DATE PERFORMANCES HIGHLIGHT SCHEDULE
Ranked among the top amphitheatres in the world, DTE Energy Music Theatre’s 2019 schedule is highlighted by four multiple-date performers, the most since it hosted four in 2004. Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band will perform six shows as part of his “Roll Me Away Tour” on June 6, 8, 12, 14, 19 and 21, and Kid Rock returns for back-to-back weekend performances of “Hot September Nights” on September 6 & 7 and 13 & 14. Michigan loves its country music as Florida Georgia Line bring their “2019 Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour” to DTE for two nights on August 10 and 22, and Jason Aldean closes out the summer with his “2019 Ride All Night Tour” on September 28 and 29.
Country stars Luke Combs (May 30) and Thomas Rhett (June 20) make their headline debuts at DTE this summer. Local Parrotheads will soak in the full Margaritaville experience when Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band returns for his 33rd concert at DTE on July 16. Hootie & The Blowfish are touring together again following a 10+ year break and will be back on the DTE stage for the first time since September 2007 on August
16.
Other highlights at DTE include the return of 99.5 WYCD Hoedown featuring main stage performances from Brantley Gilbert, Joe Nichols and Caylee Hammack on June 15, Lionel Richie on June 30, Dave Matthews Band on July 9 and Chris Stapleton on August 2. Nine co-headline bills are scheduled, including Alice Cooper and Halestorm on July 20, Train and Goo Goo Dolls on July 23, Mary J. Blige and Nas on July 28 and Korn and Alice In Chains on August 13.
MEADOW BROOK AMPHITHEATRE
Enjoy two full sets from coheadliners Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band on June 13, Ben Folds and Violent Femmes on August 11 and +LIVE+ and Bush as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of their respective landmark albums on
September 8.
Bridging the gap between rock ‘n’ roll and classical music, conductor and arranger Brent Havens will return to the podium with the acclaimed Detroit Symphony Orchestra to present The Music of Queen on July 14. Sarah McLachlan will perform with the Meadow Brook Festival Orchestra on August 10. Now with over 20 million
albums sold into their career, The B-52s continue to celebrate as 104.3 WOMC presents their 40th Anniversary Tour with special guests OMD and Berlin on September 14.
MICHIGAN LOTTERY AMPHITHEATRE AT FREEDOM HILL
The Wu-Tang Clan celebrate their 25th anniversary of their album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), on May 31 while ZZ Top, who have been around twice as long, bring their 50th Anniversary Tour on September 8.
Capping over 50 years of touring and recording, George Clinton is set to retire and embarks on his final tour, “One Nation Under a Groove Tour,” with the legendary Parliament Funkadelic on June 20.
Seven co-headline bills also highlight the summer schedule at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre and will feature full sets from Coheed and Cambria & Mastodon on June 11, Willie Nelson & Family and Alison Krauss on June 25, Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World on June 28, Young The Giant & Fitz and the Tantrums on June 29, The Temptations and The Righteous Brothers on July 27, moe. and Blues Traveler on July 30, and Social Distortion and Flogging Molly on September 6. Shows at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill are part of the Fifth Third Bank Concert Series.

Tours slated for Little Caesars Arena in The District Detroit this summer include The Who (May 28), New Kids on the Block (June 18), Hugh Jackman (June 24), Jennifer Lopez (July 5), Jeff Lynne’s ELO (July 20), Queen + Adam Lambert (July 27), Khalid (July 28), John Mayer (August 2), Shawn Mendes (August 5), the Backstreet Boys (August 12) and the Jonas Brothers (September 7).
