DETROIT (WXYZ) — An 85-year-old man was found dead inside a home in the 7440 block of Pilgrim St. on Jan. 21. Police say the man was bound and gagged with trauma to his head, and placed in a metal cabinet.
Detroit police officers were responding to a wellbeing check at the home for the victim, Albert R. Wright, who had not been seen in several days.
When officers arrived there was no answer at the door, which prompted them to contact the Detroit Fire Department. Entry was gained to the home where Wright was found dead. The suspect in the case, Carlos A. Terry, 38, was also inside the home. He was arrested.
Terry allegedly stole personal items from Wright and then killed him.
Terry is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree felony murder. He was remanded to jail and will next appear in court on Feb. 12.
