(WXYZ) — The body of a missing Livingston County woman was found behind a home on Detroit's west side.
Kayla Pierce, 29, went missing in late November. The mother of two was reported missing by her mother, who said Pierce may have been headed to Detroit.
Police in Detroit, Michigan State Police and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office investigated, and found her remains behind a home on Heyden St. in the Rosedale Park area.
Police also arrested 47-year-old Dowan Knighton, charging him with mutilation of a dead body, concealing the death of an individual and tampering with evidence.
Police haven't said what Pierce's connection was to Knighton, or Knighton's connection to the home.
Knighton is being held on a $50,000 bond.
