CANTON, Mich. (WXYZ) — The 8-year-old boy who was shot inside a Canton home has died, according to police. Police say one person is in custody.
The child was shot after a firearm discharged inside a home on Old Michigan Avenue around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
First responders arrived on the scene and transported the child to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation into how the boy was shot is currently underway.
According to police, they expect to turn their investigation over to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.
