Break-in at church on Detroit's west side

Posted

There was another church break-in on the city's west-side this morning.

Police say the target this time was the Leland Missionary Baptist Church on Fenkel near Lahser.

The suspect apparently climbed onto the roof and broke in through a second floor window around 1:30 a.m.

He set off some motion detectors and tripped the security alarm which tipped off police.

We are told he did have some computers loaded up, but he took off and left everything behind.

The deacon is very thankful -- he credits Detroit police with their quick response.

We're told there have been a string of these types of break-ins in recent months.
