Brothers arrested in connection to theft of John Deere Gator from Livonia high school shed

LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) — Livonia police have arrested two brothers in connection to a break-in and burglary at a storage facility at Churchill High School earlier this month.

According to police, 24-year-old Jessus Garcia and 19-year-old Fernando Garcia were caught on school surveillance video breaking into a storage shed on Oct. 6 at 11:50 p.m. Video showed them stealing . John Deere Gator motorized cart, landscaping equipment and tools.

A citizen came forward and identified the suspects, and on Thursday, they were arrested without incident. They were charged with breaking and entering, larceny and receiving and concealing stolen property. Investigators later recovered the stolen eqipment near Warren Rd. and I-275.

Both were arraigned on Friday, and Jessus was given a $50,000 bond, 10 percent, while Fernando was given a $20,000/10 percent bond.
