Buckle up: Seat belt law crackdown in MI

and last updated

Drivers, buckle up. Officers will be on the lookout for seat belts for the next two weeks.

Beginning today through June 5, Michigan State Police along with local officers and county deputies are coordinating efforts to enforce seat belt laws.

Remember drivers and all front seat passengers must buckle up, along with anyone 15 or younger sitting anywhere in the car.

Children must be in a car seat or booster until they are 8 years old or at least 4' 9" --and all children under 4 must sit in the back seat.
