TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 28-year-old Buckley man accused of sexually and physically abusing his girlfriend in his Wexford County home was charged Thursday.
The Lake Ann woman, 19, contacted police on Sunday alleging that her boyfriend, Anthony Costa, had sexually assaulted her and then physically abused and strangled her. She was treated in a hospital and showed police her injuries from the alleged attack.
Michigan State Police arrested Costa following an investigation, placing him in Grand Traverse County Jail.
He is being charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the first degree and one count of Assault with Intent to Commit Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder. Costa is being held on a $10,000 bond.
