MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A home burglary Saturday morning led police on a chase that ended in a vehicle crash in Macomb County.

Around 6:45 a.m., deputies responded to a residential alarm on 31 Mile Road in Lenox Township. At the home, deputies saw a white man driving a blue Chevy pickup truck speeding away from the scene.

Deputies say the chase continued to Gratiot north of 25 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township. Following a failed attempt to stop the driver, deputies deployed stop sticks. The driver hit the stop sticks, and the vehicle swerved off the roadway, stopping against a tree, police say.

The driver was taken into custody without incident.

The homeowner reported several items stolen items from his home that were recovered from the suspect's pickup truck. Deputies found the vehicle was also stolen from another jurisdiction.

Several police cars were damaged, but no deputies were injured as a result of the crash.
