Canadian man busted with 58 kilos of cocaine at Blue Water Bridge

POINT EDWARD, Ontario — A Canadian man was busted with more than 58 kilograms of cocaine last month, the Canada Border Services Agency said in a release.

According to the agents, a traveler arrived at the Blue Water Bridge in Point Edward, Ontario on May 24, 2019, and was referred for a secondary examination.

Officers with a detector dog team and large-scale imaging x-ray found 48 bricks of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle. The drugs were inside an after-market compartment of the vehicle.

The driver was arrested and transferred to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He was identified as 29-year-old Olanrewaju Michael Ojelade of Brantford, Ontario.

He was charged with importing a schedule one substance, possession of a schedule one substance and trafficking a schedule one substance.
