EASTPOINTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — An Eastpointe teen is behind bars this morning after chasing another man through a neighborhood in his car, which led to the teen crashing his vehicle into a man’s home.
No one was injured inside the house, but a giant hole was left behind in the small single-story home at the corner of Stephens and Dale.
According to police, the chase started after the teenager arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s house and found her with another man. A chase started through the neighborhood, but the two drivers couldn’t maneuver a curve on Dale Street as they crossed Stephens.
The teenager that was giving chase ended up crashing into a home and ran away on foot before police arrived. He was eventually found on Gratiot Avenue and arrested — police are working to determine what type of charges he may face, potentially reckless endangerment.
The homeowner declined to comment, but crews were called in overnight to board up the car-sized hole in his home.
