Monroe County deputies responded to double fatal traffic crash Saturday night on North Telegraph Road and North of Buhl Road in Frenchtown Township.
Police say 34-year-old William Carpenter was traveling northbound on North Telegraph Road on a white 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Mikyla Allen, 28, was a passenger on the motorcycle.
Both were hit by a tan 2005 Buick Rendezvous driving southbound on North Telegraph. The 33-year-old female driver was trying to turn left into the Marathon gas station in Newport when the collision happened.
Carpenter was pronounced dead at the scene, while Allen was taken to a local hospital but later died as a result of injured sustained from the crash, according to officers.
The 33-year-old female driver was not injured in the accident.
Neither speed or alcohol appear to be a cause of the crash, police say.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the crash.
